Personality: Alanthar is quiet but commands a profound air of confidence and sincerity, which draws others to him. During his teenage years, he suffered dearly when his mother disappeared - almost drowning in sorrow. He has since then become a man of compassion with a strong will - carrying his mother's weak spirit on with his will to be compassionate in a world bereft of such spirit.

History: Alanthar was born to a Goddess and a mortal, but his mortal father died before he was born. His mother (Goddess of Compassion) decided to ignore her roles in the God realm and live in the mortal realm when she found out her son Alanthar was mortal and couldn't live with her and the other Gods/Guardians. So she and Alanthar lived in the land of the mortals, though She and Alanthar sometimes visited the God realm. However, when Alanthar was still young, his mother began to fade from the corruption and pain that filled the world. Her compassion withered away and she became a lost hope and faded away. Alanthar was stricken with loneliness when his mother disappeared and didn't know how to cope with the loss of his mother. To cope, he started painting her markings on himself so that his mother could live on. He never painted her forehead markings or her tail markings, because the paint never stayed on his tail and his mother adored his own forehead markings. As he grew up, he did this painting daily, so many never saw his true markings. A young royal, a rebel in her family, fell in love with Alanthar and married him. Because she was first in line for the throne, when her parents died, Alanthar and the royal became King and Queen.

After he got married, he came to terms with his mother's disappearance, but he still paints on her markings in public, because no one really knows him without her markings. In his family and with his wife he doesn't wear the paint anymore. Turmoil built up in the royal family when Alanthar's child was found to be born a God and because Alanthar and his wife didn't want to have another child, the entire extended royal family was in a constant struggle to find who would become the next heir.
