An RP between Kris'tran, Seaver and Riley with lilwyverngirl as Kris'tran and SpicySpaghettio as Seaver and Riley.

Nervous and a little overwhelmed by the territory and gender make-up of Aryn, Kris'tran padded around the den site in slightly jerky movements, eyes darting around as if he didn't trust the shadows around him. But he was told he should meet a wolf named Seaver to find out more about the Courser task. Unfortunately, Seaver was also a male - presenting a fairly large dilemma for the small male. But it was a task that seemed appropriate to Kris, so he decided to steel his courage and try to find the wolf he was told to look for.

But he didn't see anyone in particular that looked like the type to be a Courser, so he looked around for someone to ask. He noticed a brownish pelt sleeping in the most curious of ways. Half his body was wedged in a hollow log while their hindquarters spilled out into the brisk morning air. Kris'tran would have found the site quite humorous if he wasn't afraid of being beaten. He approached the hindquarters and stood there debating what to do before clearing his through.

"E-excuse me, sir sovereign," he stated courteously, using the most polite title he could think of. "But can you help me. I am looking for a wolf named Seaver... Can you assist me with his whereabouts?" Kris'tran's ears were flat against his skull but he stood his ground, though backing up a few feet in case the wolf came out too suddenly. Kris didn't want to skitter away until he found out what he wanted, but he also wanted to make sure he could flee if he needed to.

----------
Spicybuns said the following:

Seaver had taken a liking to sleeping inside a log. The close quarters were quite comforting in the middle of the night, he felt cuddled by it. There were small holes near his head that filtered in light, which provided warm spots on his muzzle and ears. While completely passed out his half conscious mind wished his entire body could feel the pleasant morning heat of the sun, but he wasn't sure how to exactly go about it. his snores were amplified in the hollowness of the log, roaring quite obnoxiously as his chest rose and fell with sleepy intakes of breath.

Though a voice suddenly startled him, and he wasn't expecting it. Out of reflex he shot his head up, only to be met with a solid FWAK of his skull colliding with the roof of the log. His limbs buckled as he was very much slapped awake, and he groaned a little as he came to his senses. Someone was asking something, right right... He backed out of the log carefully, squirming around to free his elbows. Soon enough he was standing up with a dizzy look and very much bed-head fur. He shook his head hard to rid himself of the grogginess, and half spoke to whomever had addressed him. "Ah, so sorry, what was it?" He said, squinting as he rubbed the tender spot on his head.

It was then when he looked at his addresser, one of the newbies. A young male perhaps a couple of inches shorter than himself, bearing a pelt of black and brown. He looked petrified. Certainly not because of him? "Oh, I'm sorry! I'm Seaver. What's up? We haven't met yet, what's your name?" He asked, flashing a very friendly and goofy grin at the new wolf. He loved meeting new faces. He let his tail wag happily behind him as all of his features were pressed forward in interest.

----------
lilwyverngirl said the following:

The audible thump frightened the already edgy young adult and he literally jumped and skittered a little bit away as the wolf shimmied himself out of the log. As the male came out, fur stuck out in every which direction in the most undignified way. Any other wolf would find this humorous, but Kris'tran shook with fear; determination to find a place in the pack was the only thing that kept him in place, though his pupils were dilated fully so that he looked like a frightened rabbit.

And though the other wolf apologized, Kris didn't let up his stiff-legged, quivering stance. Though he somehow managed a steady voice. "Ah, sir sovereign Seaver!" he gave a respectful dip of his head, though he carefully kept his eyes glued to the other male. "My name is Kris'tran, of hearted spirit. I came to Aryn not many days ago. I wish to find my place. I heard you are a Courser. Pray tell, what task is this? I cannot fight like, ahhh, a bouldered wolf. I can hunt and care for young though." Kris'tran wagged his tail slightly in the hope that this Seaver would understand what he was trying to say. And he hoped he wouldn't be disappointed too much by the brown wolf's answer.

----------
Spicybuns said the following:

Was it just him? Or was this wolf about to pee himself. He looked simply terrified, as if he had seen a ghost or something. He pondered on whether or not if he should ask if he'd met Riley yet, but brushed off the private joke of the seasoned members of Aryn and focused on what the brown young male had to say. He furrowed his brow as he spoke, making an almost subtle confused face. sir sovereign Seaver? Bouldered wolf?... Must be a foreigner like Gabi. He bent down to scratch his ear, brushing off the confusing speech and just taking it as it was.

He gave a reassuring smile in hopes that it would somewhat calm him down. "You don't have to give me a grand title like that friend, just Seaver is fine, Kris'tran of hearted Spirit." He said giving a happy tail wag to emanate his friendly nature. He flashed a grin as he spoke. "Well firstly, let me welcome you to Aryn! And you're in luck, because being a Courser is basically just that. Why don't you come walk with me? I'll show you around the den site and explain more on the way." He offered, turning to face the clearing and glancing back to see if he'd fall in place beside him. He hoped that a walk may calm him down some.

----------
lilwyverngirl said the following:

Kris'tran shrank back a little at Seaver's furrowed brow but relaxed back when the other wolf smiled. The young adult male was too traumatized to accept Seaver's kindness outright, but at least he wasn't being mean to him. Though, "grand titles?" Was that what wolves thought about his polite terms? Kris made a mental note to try to ask about what words to use for unknown packmates. "Seaver. You may then call me Kris. 'Of hearted spirit' is what my name means. I offer it as names are literal word in my pack tongue." Kris'tran cocked his head. "Am I not supposed to offer it?"

He pricked his ears forward in interest but hesitated a bit. Should he follow this Seaver? On one paw, he needed to learn about the task and get to know this wolf if he were to be a fellow in the task. On the other was Kris'tran's paranoid state. But his need to know won out and he carefully, but nervously followed Seaver on his tour. He didn't want to offend Seaver by being rude.

----------
SpicySpaghettio said the following:

He wrinkled his brow in a concerned way but smiled at the same time, almost giving him a pity look. He walked at whatever pace was comfortable for Kris. "Well, you can offer it, but around here we don't typically explain what our names mean upon first introductions, if they have meaning of course. Introducing yourself as 'Kris'tran' and then saying that you'd preferred to be called 'Kris' is considered normal." He explained, making a mental note to ask later where the heck he was from. "To be a Courser of Aryn, you must be swift and quick on your feet. We're the main hunters and providers for the pack. We also assist in babysitting for young when the parents are away. Right now the only Coursers are myself and Hani, a little yellow female. Have you met her yet?" He asked, turning to give him a look of wonder as he walked around the outer edge of the den site.

----------
lilwyverngirl said the following:

What Seaver said made some sense to Kris'tran - no wolf he'd met yet had offered the meaning of their name, so perhaps he shouldn't. But he'd wait and see what he'd learn from observing others before jumping to conclusions. It could be confusing if someone needed to know the meaning of his name. Instead he merely nodded at what Seaver said, following the other wolf about a half-length behind.

Kris'tran flicked his ears forward though as Seaver talked about the Courser task and thought about what was being said. Fast. Was he fast? Kris looked at his larger than average paws and wiggled his toes on one paw a little before setting it down and continuing after Seaver. Kris could never outrun his father - not that he ever had the strength at the time to outrun his father, so maybe he was fast? He could hunt pretty well though, so that would help. "I am not sure if I am fast," Kris'tran confessed, "but I can hunt well and I can swim very well. I can watch littles of course, I like littles." As Seaver's question though Kris'tran cocked his head to the side curiously. He'd not met many females of the pack. As far as he'd known the only females that existed were Charaka and Lady Athena. "I have not met this youthed lady Hani." Kris finally said looking curiously at the den site after acknowledging Seaver's question.

----------
SpicySpaghettio said the following:

Seaver listened intently as Kris'tran explained his skill set, trying to slow down so that they walked side by side at least so he didn't have to constantly break his neck just to speak to him. Poor guy was so shy and timid he probably didn't know how to lead a hunt. And then there was more strange terms, littles, but that must have been common wherever he was from. He shrugged it off with a simple blink. "Well that's okay too, you don't need to be a speed racer to be good at hunting. Swimming would come in handy, can you fish? I haven't managed to catch one yet... those buggers are hard." He said, groaning some as he remembered the many failed attempts he had at trying to catch fish. He rounded the area near Lady Athena's den, pausing his little tour. "Do you mind if I ask where are you from?" He pondered, looking over Kris with curious but friendly eyes.

----------
lilwyverngirl said the following:

Kris nodded as Seaver spoke but his mention of fish made the young male cock his head curiously. Eat fish? It had never occured to him that fish were edible. He just liked chasing them. "I shall admit that I have never tried to catch a fish on purpose. I like to chase them. It is a passtime I find enjoyable."

As they rounded the tour, Seaver's sudden question of Kris'tran's past made the male hesitate. Just how much information would be enough for this wolf to be satisfactory? "I am... from very far away. South past many hills, many forests and many plains. A full turn of the seasons has passed since I left my pack. I always walked north in my travels." He looked at Seaver suspiciously before continuing. "My mother was Matriarch. I chose to leave for many reasons. All these reasons I prefer to leave behind with that aged pack."

----------
SpicySpaghettio said the following:

He had to agree with Kris there. Chasing fish in shallow water was indeed a good pass time, and it certainly was a good way to cool off in the heat of the day while getting necessary exercise. Perhaps he'd drag Hani or Lawson into doing that sometime soon...

He listened with curious ears, picking up on the obvious signs of discomfort Kris'tran displayed. It took a full year to reach his home? Good grief he sure was a long way from home then. But perhaps Aryn was considered his home now, based on the fact that he preferred to leave details of his past life in the past. He gave a friendly smile and nodded. "Don't worry, you don't need to say anymore. But that's crazy! I asked because you have a very unique accent, nothing my big ol' ears have ever heard before." He commented, letting his tail sway behind him. "C'mon, I'll show you where most of the pack sleeps-" He was abruptly cut off as he turned his face away from Kris'tran and was immediately met by a pair of ghostly green eyes surrounded by dark patches. Seaver flinched slightly but it was nothing compared to how he'd used to react to the pale wolf popping up out of no where. They were practically nose to nose, Seaver backed up slightly. "Oh, hey there kiddo. Kris, I'd like you to meet Riley. He's Lady Athena's son." He explained, lifting his paw to gesture towards the deathly pale wolf.

Riley's gaze had turned to Kris'tran, though his face never moving from the position it had first appeared in. The air around him seemed icy, even his gaze seemed to strip away any shell of protection and pierce right into one's soul. He observed the dark male with lifeless eyes, though inside his mind he was gathering new intellect about the newbie. He was slightly taller than him, but carried an air of utter fear about him. No doubt he had been tortured in his previous history before Aryn. Why on earth he chose to come here was foreign to him, perhaps Seaver would explain.

----------
lilwyverngirl said the following:

Kris'tran was relieved when Seaver didn't continue to press about his past and merely nodded at the other wolf's response. The young male still didn't understand what made his speech sound so different. Were most of the wolves in the pack from nearby? Surely there were others from far away... but then again he could be wrong. He would only discover more about this when he met more of the pack. For now he was content with the few he had met thus far. Perhaps when he started feeling more comfortable he would meet more of Aryn.

But just as he was about to follow Seaver to continue the tour a ghostly white wolf appeared out of nowhere, his steely gaze and appearance just about scared the piss out of Kris'tran and he instinctively skittered back, flattening himself to the ground in fright. Seaver's own surprise and discomfort made Kris' own fear greater under the gaze of the white wolf. As Seaver introduced the male as the son of the Alpha, he tentatively stood partially, still hunched over in nervous trepidation, tail tucked between his legs while scooching back a little bit more. "H-hello," he said nervously looking up with frightened, dilated eyes. "I-I am Kris'tran o-of h-hearted spirit," though he stuttered his tone was still even and respectful despite his duress. Kris'tran had trained himself long ago to keep his voice level for fear of a beating from his "father."

The white wolf's gaze unnerved Kris'tran but he daren't not meet it. It made him think of the stories his mother would tell him of wandering spirits trapped on this earth because they had unfinished business to attend to.

----------
SpicySpaghettio said the following:

Riley only looked on as Kris'tran coward to the floor, now completely sure of himself in his previous assumption. He kept backing up and trembling as if he had committed a sin and now stood before his superior god for judgement. His ears relaxed and swiveled some to a neutral position, not really surprised by the reaction he was given. This was considered normal when he met new wolves anywhere. Judging by the size of his eyes, he believed that Riley was some sort of ghostly spirit. There was a long moment of silence before he spoke. "You have come very far, Kris'tran of Hearted Spirit. You needn't fear Aryn. Our customs are not like your relatives." He said with an empty feeling, giving him an even more disturbing notion to him. He simply gathered information from what was presented to him, that much was natural for him. To spectators however, it only made him look more mysterious and strange that he knew things without others mentioning them.

Seaver blinked and gave an incredibly nervous smile to Kris. "Ah heheh, don't worry Kris it's alright he's always like this. He won't bite, promise." He explained, giving an embarrassed chuckle. Of course Riley had to come out of no where and scare the crap out of him. Just as they were making swell progress too.

----------
lilwyverngirl said the following:

If the fur on Kris' hackles could stand perpendicular to his skin, it would. As it was, his fur rose to its fullest height along his spine and he flattened a bit in response to Riley's comments. Sidling around the white male and keeping his eyes on Riley the whole time, Kris'tran slunk over to Seaver as close as the other male would allow. He weakly responded to Riley as he came close to Seaver. "Errr, thank you, Sir Monarch Riley." It was unsettling that the male came so close to the truth that Kris was almost prepared to correct him, but deigned not to.

He looked out of the corner of his eye at Seaver as the other male tried to assure him that this ghostly male was alright. Of course, Kris didn't feel like this male was alright. He was downright frightening. Regardless, he gave Seaver and then Riley a weak smile in response. "Aryn has thus far proven much greater spirited than my distanced home," Kris'tran offered before giving Seaver a look that said can we go somewhere FAR away from this wolf now? Kris'tran had reached his limit of Riley at that moment and would probably spook and flee if Riley creeped him out any further.

Despite his introduction to Riley, Kris’tran was at least more comfortable with Seaver than before. Aryn was becoming more welcoming as far as he has experienced and he hoped that he could fit in here.

He would ask Lady Athena if he could be a Courser – and he hoped to prove himself to the pack that had allowed him a second chance.
:icondomain-of-the-wolf:

Summary: Kris'tran, new in Aryn, seeks out the Gamma Courser Seaver in order to learn more about the task. Seaver explains as well as offering to give the new wolf a tour of the den site. They encounter Riley and Kris'tran is frightened by the wolf, keen on getting away. Despite this, he decides to solidify his choice in joining Aryn - determining to become a Courser after this introduction with Seaver.

Seaver and Riley belong to :iconspicyspaghettio:
Kris'tran belongs to :iconlilwyverngirl:
We each wrote our separate parts~ :meow:

OOC Comments: This happened shortly after Kris'tran joined Aryn; approximately a day after he meets Raghaalr. Kris I think has become a little more relaxed since then, though he'd probably still avoid Riley like the plague. D:
